Summary
[edit]DescriptionEarly 20th Century Micronesian Armour.jpg |
English: This is an excellent example of early 20th century Micronesian Armour collected by Frank Burnett, a Canadian writer, in Kiribati in 1902. The armour is made of finely woven coir that covers the whole body and its breastplate is intriguingly made of stingray skin. The neck protector has rows of a diamond design pattern in black on dark brown ground. This item was donated to the UBC Museum of Anthropology in Vancouver, Canada, in 1927 where its museum catalogue number is C1491 a-e
